As a UI/UX designer and product manager during my time at a medical mammography software company, I spearheaded the creation of intuitive user interface designs to optimize radiologists’ workflows in detecting breast tissue cancers. My focus was on crafting a seamless iPad-based layout that elevated the reporting experience, blending user-centered design with strategic product vision.
Through firsthand observations at clinics and hospitals, I immersed myself in the radiologists’ world—dimly lit rooms where they analyze images and dictate findings. Noticing that roughly 80% of exams result in normal outcomes, I identified a critical opportunity: radiologists needed a flexible, efficient tool to finalize reports from anywhere in the clinic without disrupting their flow. This insight drove my design and product strategy.
I led the development of an encrypted, HIPAA-compliant software solution that prioritized both security and usability. With a clean, minimal-click interface, radiologists could complete reports effortlessly, triggering automatic delivery to clinicians. This streamlined system empowered clinicians to generate and send patient recommendation letters—via email, mail, or upload—enhancing operational efficiency and elevating patient care. My dual role ensured the product not only met technical standards but also delivered a delightful, impactful user experience.
